Very good, pleasant setting along the Charente river, friendly and professional staff. I recommend it.

First visit with our friend who lives near Angoulême, and frankly, we weren't disappointed! Super fresh, seasonal produce, very generous portions, and especially the discovery of things like cognac cocktails, etc. ... We'll definitely be back, and it's excellent value for money. Despite the flooding of the Charente River (we even left with wet feet using the emergency exit!), we honored our reservation. The cuisine aims for a gourmet experience, and while it was good (semi-cooked foie gras doesn't mean raw), the service was a disaster. It took three and a half hours to eat, a complete lack of organization! The waiter kept coming back and forth, without clearing our plates. The appetizers can be prepared in advance in the refrigerator (not cooked as needed), and since the waitress had already taken the time to cook the meats, they were cooked immediately afterward. The desserts were simply plated at the end. The conversations in the kitchen were audible! Stained jeans and t-shirts were a hygiene concern, which wasn't great. Luckily, we were only passing through.

Everything is homemade and delicious. She was very kind to the children; we felt very welcome. Thank you.

A restaurant that doesn't look like much, but the welcome was very warm, the staff were friendly and smiling. The menu is simple yet varied. The food is delicious. We had a wonderful evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you to the team for this lovely experience.

Contrary to what other reviews say, the floor isn't sticky (you might need to change your shoes, I think 😄). A table was ready for our reservation, and while the chairs are admittedly old, they're comfortable enough not to be hard. It's worth remembering that not all restaurants have the luxury of changing their furniture as often as they'd like (for me, that's not a problem as long as it's not "broken up," which it wasn't). The meal was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place; it's friendly, the service is good (finally, someone smiling! 👌🏼), kudos to the chef—the homemade fries are excellent, and so is the rest of the meal! We'll be back!
