Ragazzi da Peppone sur La Rochelle

A Thursday evening at Pepone's, because it's a bit like a Proustian madeleine... We go there for its simple but delicious Italian dishes that warm the heart, even in the middle of summer. That was our experience that evening. There was a wait because they don't take reservations, but it's mentioned on Google, so no worries (but for those who like to book before eating, keep that in mind). However, it is possible to "reserve" a table on the spot, depending on availability, with varying lead times, which can give you the opportunity to stroll around the port or the surrounding streets, or have a drink nearby. There was also a wait for the menus; perhaps there was a hiccup in the organization? (We arrived at 8 pm and waited 25 minutes for a menu. A tip: go with someone you can easily chat with; it'll pass the time). The two-cheese pasta was good, but the sauce was perhaps too strong with the gorgonzola, which masked the flavor of the parmesan. Nevertheless, the pasta was cooked perfectly. You can't be excellent all the time, and I think we'll come back to see you next season when things have calmed down. Thank you to our server who did his best in his assigned area.

Our child loved it so much that we had to come back a second time the same week. Thank you again for the service and the quality of your products. See you very soon when we return to La Rochelle.

Dinner for two, delicious pasta, scrumptious dessert! Impeccable service: quick, Renaud, the waiter who greeted us, was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place!

A very nice discovery away from the busy streets of the city, fresh produce, delicious pizza and salad.

I wish I could give my experience 10 stars as it was well deserved! I had the most incredible tagliatelle carbonara and was really impressed that the staff checked with the kitchen what I could eat and what I should avoid on the menu before I even asked (as I am pregnant). I was served by the loveliest young lady called Fleur who was kind and attentive, giving great suggestions and providing service with a beautiful smile ❤️ I will 100% be returning when I am next in Larochelle.

Hello, The cheese pasta is of average quality. However, the Carbonara pasta is good. I ordered one of the cheese pastas for €18. I find the price a bit high considering the quantity and the very small amount of sauce. Needs improvement. The service is good.

A wonderful experience at Ragazzi Da Peppone: excellent pizzas and attentive servers (a huge thank you to Adrien for his kindness towards our two-year-old son). We will gladly return on our next visit to La Rochelle!

Having been customers of this restaurant for the past four years, we were very disappointed this time by the pizzas, or more precisely, the pizza dough. It was very dry and brittle; it seemed stale. No desserts with ice cream were available... apparently a technical problem. We're not sure we'll be going back.
