A Bordeaux institution for Italian cuisine, Ragazzi da Peppone in Pessac is no exception. The food is excellent. The pizzas are delicious and reasonably priced. My only disappointment, speaking of price, is the desserts. They are really expensive and discourage you from ordering one...

Our first dinner involved a completely burnt pizza crust served as is, without any explanation.
Tonight we returned for two desserts. We ordered a vacherin and a crumble. The waitress said okay, but there would be a 20-minute wait for the crumble to bake. We agreed, but when the desserts arrived, the crumble was still frozen and inedible. We pointed this out to her when paying, but received no compensation, as apparently no manager was present (according to the waitress). In short, we are very disappointed, but we do not recommend this place because you can't build a customer base without being consistent.

Overall, a very good experience.
Unfortunately, the waiter walked past our table twice after we had finished our meal, without paying any attention to us. We ended up gathering our plates ourselves so he could clear them, which he eventually did.
At the end of the meal, we weren't offered a dessert menu. We had to ask for it ourselves to order dessert.
The waiter seemed to be wandering around the terrace aisles more than paying attention to the customers.
What a shame, as this somewhat marred what had otherwise been a very promising experience.

I highly recommend it.
The staff are always friendly (thanks especially to Merwane and Charles) and the pasta and pizzas are delicious.
