A beautiful building with an interesting history. The setting is sublime. A pleasant visit with a very professional and friendly guide. (Allow about an hour and a half.) Combine it with a walk down to the Devil's Bridge, which you can cross to admire the Arc (for those who aren't afraid of heights! 😉) A must-do!

Fort Redoute Marie-Thérèse is an absolutely magnificent place, steeped in history and perfectly integrated into an exceptional natural setting. Its commanding position offers breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountains. It's a real pleasure to be able to wander freely around the site and explore the fortifications, passageways, and ramparts at your own pace.
It's a wonderful initiative to see this fort undergoing restoration; it helps preserve a unique heritage and breathes new life into a place that bears witness to the region's military history. Free, open access, available 24/7, is a real bonus—you can come at any time of day, even at sunset, to enjoy the peace and quiet and the panoramic views. A truly wonderful discovery not to be missed if you're visiting Aussois or the Maurienne Valley!
