Another sublime moment at Relais d’Ozenay.
From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped by the charm of the place: a warm welcome, an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere, and a rare tranquility that makes you feel as if you've stepped outside of time. A true haven of serenity.
Then came the dishes… magnificent, colorful, delicately floral, as visually refined as they were promising in terms of flavor. You immediately sense the care, sensitivity, and generosity behind each creation.
Upon tasting, everything was perfectly executed: bold yet subtle flavors, precise pairings, rich and flavorful jus, and exquisitely delicate cooking. Special mention goes to the seven-hour lamb, absolutely meltingly tender and unforgettable. Each dish tells a story and evokes a genuine gustatory emotion.
The service is attentive, discreet, and perfectly paced, which contributes fully to the experience.
From beginning to end, this meal was a marvel. An inspired and inspiring table, where you leave happy… with only one desire: to return very soon.

One could easily walk past the saffron-yellow façade of the Relais d’Ozenay, between Brancion and Tournus, without giving it a second glance, as it is rather discreet and doesn't reflect the treasures that await you once you step inside: a modern and refined interior, a lovely terrace shaded by parasols on the rocky slope, a very polite and professional welcome, but above all, a range of gourmet menus priced between 30 and 95 euros to suit all budgets and occasions.
An extensive wine list completes the experience, and the dishes are served on elegant tableware, meticulously chosen from local ceramicists and artisans who craft each piece to order.
We opted for the eponymous 95-euro menu, the nature of which is only revealed over the course of its eight courses, as it is created according to the Chef's inspiration of the day, using fresh, seasonal market produce.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'll share it with you. Our five senses were delighted: the beauty of the compositions, the finesse of the flavor combinations, the subtlety of the pairings, and the sheer joy of the taste buds. In short, a truly exceptional family moment (since we couldn't afford to experience something like this every day), and only one regret: not having memorized the descriptions of the dishes we were served, as they weren't listed on the surprise menu.
The only thing I can say is that it was good, very good, and we will long remember this beautiful spring day in Ozenay, which ended with a stroll through the paths of this charming little village nestled in the heart of the Burgundy countryside. So don't hesitate to visit if you're in the area. The Chef himself (who is also very friendly) can even arrange cooking classes if you'd like; just check the details on the restaurant's website!
