Restaurant Au Cheval Noir sur Hoenheim

Good evening, I came in November 2025. Everything was perfect. So I booked again for September 13th. What a disappointment! There was a mistake with the starter; I was served a poached egg on mashed potatoes. Very ordinary. It should have been a salmon terrine. We didn't want to cancel because it was for 17 people. I was embarrassed in front of my guests. The veal rump was perfect. Excellent. However, the profiteroles were a disaster. The ice cream was tasteless, very white; store-bought ice cream is much better than what was offered, and it was half melted. The Chantilly cream was very disappointing, lacking body, whereas in November 2025 it was delicious! Have you changed chefs? In short, a meal that didn't live up to expectations. What a shame. I was upset for my guests.

A truly lovely establishment offering a diverse menu and local specialties. The service was top-notch, and the dishes we tasted were excellent 👍 We made a reservation online late at night and received confirmation the very next morning. It was flawless from start to finish. Well done to the whole team 👏

The dining room is beautiful, with superb decor! The food is also beautiful and, above all, delicious! We chose the Cheval Noir menu, and I highly recommend it—it's excellent value for money! We had a wonderful meal and a lovely evening. This is my second time at Cheval Noir, and both experiences have been fantastic.
