I visited this restaurant with my family, on the recommendation of a family friend who lives in the area. Unfortunately, our experience was ultimately disappointing. The food was, at best, mediocre and didn't live up to what I expected from a restaurant with such a reputation. The duck was overcooked and dry, the steaks were very fatty, and the fries were hard and overcooked. However, it wasn't the quality of the food that prompted me to leave this review. What disappointed us most was the service. Our appetizers were served at the same time as our main courses. The staff then asked if they could simply leave the dishes on the table while we ate our appetizers. We politely asked if the dishes could be taken back to the kitchen and refilled once we had finished our appetizers, which seemed like the bare minimum expected in a restaurant. The staff refused and showed very little concern for this service error. No apology was offered, and no solution was proposed, which made us feel that our experience didn't matter. As we were leaving the restaurant, an incident unrelated to the establishment unfortunately further spoiled our afternoon: a local man spat in my direction. I can only assume this was due to the fact that we were driving a car with British license plates, even though we were visiting French family in the area. I don't hold the restaurant responsible for this incident, but it added to an already very disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a pleasant family meal with quality food and attentive service. However, if you're simply looking for a place to have a drink or share a casual meal with friends, it might be suitable. That being said, this beautiful region of France is full of restaurants offering much better food, quality service, and a far warmer welcome.

A real hidden gem! Meat from their own butcher shop! The filet steak was divine! Even though we couldn't communicate with the owner, she was very, very nice and everything arrived exactly as we ordered. Highly recommended…

We ate there with the whole family: two adults and two children, ages 4 and 8. At first, it seemed a bit... well, let's just say it wasn't great. However, that impression is very deceiving because the food and service are fantastic. Unfortunately, the menus are limited and only available in German or English. The waiters who served us didn't speak English or German, but the order was taken without any confusion. You just need to allow a little extra time; French language skills are definitely an advantage. The food was absolutely delicious and much better than at the restaurant next door, and the prices were excellent. What I ate cost €22, plus €6 for a small salad and €4 for a 1-liter bottle of water. So, to sum it up, definitely go there if you want good, traditional German food at a very fair price.
