Restaurant des canards sur Chef-Boutonne

We stayed here for 1 night on 30th December 2023 (corrected from early January 2024) on our drive down to Spain. The site was clean and well maintained and the owner was friendly, but it was very disappointing that the electricity supply to 3 caravans/motorhomes tripped out in the early evening and the owner was unavailable (the trip switch was inaccessible to us). As a result - we were left using our on-board power despite paying for a pitch with electricity included. The neighbour on the adjacent pitch explained that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Additionally, WiFi was charged at €4 per day per device, and the shower push button had to be held in permanently to obtain a consistent water supply (ineffective timer device fitted). Overall - I won’t be returning to this campsite as I feel it was expensive for the services received and not value for money.

First time visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening event and our meals.

We loved this site so much we had two trips in a month there. Having read the previous reviews, the service we received was fantastic! A mixture of French, Dutch and English campers all mixing together. Staff very friendly. Restaurant was lovely, we ate there lots and took part in the quiz night... Good fun! Very good for dogs lovers... our 4 dogs loved it and we're made to feel very welcome. A gem of a site ... and we definitely will be back!

If the owner cannot be found, ask other campers to open the barrier. You can just go anywhere, paved or on the grass, the owner, an English man, will come to you automatically. Nice restaurant, run by the owners, extensive menu and fresh products. Swimming pool and sunbeds. Just 700 meters from the lovely village of Chef-Boutonne, with several restaurants and bakeries. Toilet building is outdated but has clean and hot water. You can also use the luxurious shower and toilet at the pool.

The disabled toilet is very clean, however it deserves better organization: missing a hook to hang clothes, the water distribution timer must be better set, too short for washing, very slippery floor, otherwise the address to remember the campsite is well maintained and quiet.

Friendly, helpful hosts. Nice location and good facilities.

Camping très agréable, les emplacements étaient très biens ( bien plats, herbeux et ombragés ), la piscine est à bonne température, idéale pour se raffraichir avec une zone profonde. L' accueil est très chaleureux avec notamment un verre d'eau fraiche servit à notre arrivée en vélo. Le restaurant est très joli avec un coté rustique ainsi qu'une terrasse sur la piscine. Je recommande si vous cherchez du calme et du repos.
