Another visit to the Dombes restaurant, with fond memories of its pleasant terrace during the summer months. For our dinner yesterday, the aperitif accompaniments lacked originality and flair... the frogs' legs were very good, and a nice touch was that they were served on a warming plate, keeping them pleasant throughout the meal. The other dishes were decent and generous, but the desserts were very traditional and seemed stuck in the past; it would be good to adapt some of the offerings to the season. A positive point was the nice variety of wines by the glass, which, however, deserved to be presented with the bottle itself, rather than simply having the glasses already filled. Much work remains to be done to better align the cuisine with the restaurant's beautiful dining room.

What a wonderful experience at Restaurant des Dombes! The welcome was truly warm, and we immediately felt at ease. And what can I say about the food… The frogs' legs were absolutely succulent, perfectly prepared, with that authentic flavor you don't find everywhere. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are evident in every bite. A must-visit if you're in Bourg-en-Bresse: friendly atmosphere, delicious flavors, and top-notch service. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

Hello Very good restaurant, the frog legs were delicious! My friend and I enjoyed them, and another friend joined us and had the same experience. I highly recommend it, and thank you to the waitress and the owner, who were very professional and friendly.

09/12/2023: A little disappointed with the menu. The carp gougeonnettes were a little bland, lacking in seasoning! Ditto frogs….. chicken dish with morel sauce and entrecôte it was ok but lacked flavor too. the ice cream desserts from the Alps: good but hey everyone knows…. The waitress, on the other hand, was very friendly. The value for money is a little expensive...139 euros for 3 without aperitifs, only a pitcher of white and rosé wine.
12/11/2023: A very good address that we are delighted to have discovered, The service is a little long but the culinary level makes us forget this detail... We started with an appetizer offered on our arrival (foie gras crème brûlée) Then we took the menus at 30th As a starter, choice between terrine or carp goujonettes with tartar sauce. The 2 dishes are validated 😊 served with green salad and grated carrots Then, choice between part of Butcher with shallot sauce or lamb shank. Also validated. Mention to the butcher's piece which was as melt-in-your-mouth as possible The 2 dishes were accompanied by butternut puree, zucchini flan and gratin dauphinois! Delicious ! The menu included cheese or fromage blanc. We opted for dry cheese: 5 top selections! And finally the desserts, 5 to choose from if I remember correctly and we had a gingerbread pear crumble and a chartreuse crème brulée! An explosion of flavors whether one or the other A very good time spent at this address. Possibility of eating Bresse chicken and frogs. We will come back !
