The location at the gates of Chambord Castle, the most beautiful in the Loire, is definitely worth it. The hotel does not deserve the SLH category due to the lack of management and maintenance, both in rooms and common areas.
The service seems very novice and presumptuous. Of course you need to pay a good manager to look at the maintenance details.
The restaurant and food service, although it claims to be good, almost always loses in the details of food temperature or point. Classic cocktails and very good local wines.
A location pays to visit the main wonders of the eastern Loire area.

The relay is very pleasant.
Our room was perfect, on the ground floor with a small private green space.
The room is beautiful, view of the castle, well designed, spacious.
There bathroom is beautiful.
Only small downside, but of no real importance, the old French window has difficulty opening, we had to call the service so that they could show us how to do it.
Our 2 dogs were welcomed without problem.
Small difference with other establishments, no bowl or beds provided for them.

-Small room without any particular charm
-Cold common areas without charm or warmth, we do not find at all the spirit of a castle, the same for the exterior facade comparable to a standard chain hotel.
-Hammam broken down, we had booked this hotel partly for the spa, the fault may be unlucky but on a long weekend without repair it's a shame.
-Supplement 10€ for parking, little impact on the overall score but not correct in principle, there are no other alternatives.
Conclusion, it's not worth €350 for one night (standard room), at this price we expect more.

A lovely hotel and very convenient for visiting the Chateaux De Chambourd.
Unfortunately the breakfast and restaurant experience are not up to the normal Relais hotel standards. The proximity to the Chateaux appears to generate a captive market approach not what you would expect from a hotel of this price.
