The Madonna of Utelle is a popular cycling route; the Paris-Nice cycling race has a summit finish there, and having done it many times, I've always found the climb worthwhile because it's a steady ascent and the view from the top is truly breathtaking. You can see the sea, and it's always enchanting to finish a climb in such a setting.

It takes about half an hour by car, winding through switchbacks and undergrowth, to reach the summit. The reward is well worth it: a breathtaking panoramic view!

Challenging access road, but the view is worth it. We saw a single vulture flying close to the top.

Beautiful spot, difficult access and narrow road, but if you're passing through the area, it's a highly recommended stop for its magnificent view and its Madonna statue ⛪✝️. May God bless you if you honor it 🙏. Shop and bar run by volunteers. Thank you to them.

The sanctuary is a place of pilgrimage for Christians, it is located on a plateau, you can enjoy a 360° panorama of the peaks of the Mercantour to the azure of the Mediterranean Sea, a very beautiful walk.
