The Hippopotamus Steakhouse in Noyelles-Godault is a cozy restaurant in a rustic setting.
This impeccably clean establishment has plenty of charm.
The staff seems attentive to every customer's needs.
The perfectly executed "over charcoal" cooking of the meats adds a real touch of flavor.
The portions and quality of the dishes are in line with the price.
However, given the prices charged, it's inconceivable to serve a dessert in a tiny container missing one of its handles...

The service was okay, but I was slightly disappointed as I've been a loyal customer for a long time. There were fewer choices on the menu and the prices were higher... Where are the spring rolls for starters and the floating island dessert? Still, it's fine for lunch.
