Went for lunch, dined on the rear terrace in the shade. My wife had the plat du jour for 16€, starter of onion and mozzarella tart, followed by turkey in a cheese and tomato sauce. I went for a lovely starter of hot goats cheese salad, amazing confit pork and a café gourmand dessert.
Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent choice of locally sourced meals, all at a competitive price. The bar and dining area are clean and well presented.
Really impressed with our first visit having driven past the Barrière for years.

An excellent experience at this restaurant in Chabanais. We were delighted by the quality of the food and the warm welcome we received.
The homemade fries, served in their little metal basket, were simply delicious. Everything was flavorful and perfectly prepared. We will gladly return to try the rest of the menu.
The owner is very kind and helpful. The restaurant is nicely decorated and well located. A very pleasant place. There's also a hotel, which is rare in this area. I recommend stopping by if you're ever in Chabanais.
