Restaurant La Cascade sur La Valla-En-Gier

We just had lunch at La Cascade restaurant as a group of 14, and we highly recommend it! The team is dynamic, friendly, and very pleasant. The dishes are delicious, generous, and beautifully presented: a true delight for both the palate and the eyes. Furthermore, this establishment accommodates dietary restrictions (gluten-free or lactose-free), which is worth highlighting. A big thank you to the entire team, from the waitstaff and kitchen staff to all the people who work behind the scenes and contribute, too often without being mentioned, to our comfort and the quality of these moments. A restaurant that will be on your route if you're taking a walk towards the dams. The food is good, with reasonable portions and prices.

The restaurant and service were impeccable, and the portions were ample; there were 19 of us at the table for my 80th birthday. I highly recommend it.

Dinner for two, the menu was good value for money, the starter and main course were excellent, the ingredients were high quality, and the food was well-prepared. However, the desserts were a huge disappointment. The amanita mushroom, which I had long admired at this restaurant, had a meringue that was far too hard (I had imagined it to be crisp and melt-in-your-mouth), and the raspberry coulis seemed pre-made, acidic, and had no raspberry flavor. A shame. The dining room was noisy.

The set menu at €18.50 offered excellent value for money, with two choices of starter, main course, and dessert. The hake was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The setting was very pleasant, with a beautifully decorated veranda. The restrooms were spotless. This was my first time at this restaurant, but certainly not my last, as I had a wonderful time. I will definitely return to try the tasting menu. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the walking trails around the dams.

Noisy. A bit of a wait, though. Excellent fish.
