My family enjoyed lunch at La Couronne today. The food and service were both excellent. Three of us ordered the 5 course prix fixed meal and the 13 year old got the grilled lobster entree. If we lived in Rouen, we would dine at La Couronne regularly. Unfortunately, we were visiting but will be back the next time we are in Normandy. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a joy to have lunch in the oldest inn in France, on the Place du Vieux Marché, in this historic place where Joan of Arc was executed. Excellent meal, friendly service, we had a truly wonderful time!

I'm from Rouen – I've known La Couronne for 40 years – my last experience was about ten years ago – I went there for lunch on Sunday, March 15, 2026 – wow! Where's the prestige of La Couronne? The meal was decent – ​​the champagne was excellent and well chilled – however, you shouldn't look around – a large bouquet in the downstairs room was wilted – flowerpots on the tables were withered – the lampshades of the small lamps were covered in fly specks… the curtains in the upstairs room were torn and dirty – electrical wires were lying all over the floor, and worst of all, the toilets were a disaster (broken toilet seat), the sinks were filthy – the door handle was broken – towels were everywhere. A very old inn – certainly – showing its age – certainly, but cleanliness is another matter.

Simply incredible, a gourmet restaurant that's not pretentious, just an excellent execution of French culinary culture. Thank you to our waiter Thomas for his good humor and expertise ❤️ A gem with excellent value for money. Not to mention the history of the place…

A delightful experience from start to finish! A huge thank you to the chef for this incredibly delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced meal! And a big thank you to the two servers who were exceptionally kind, friendly, and welcoming 👍👍 If you want to discover Rouen, you must dine at the oldest inn in France. The decor is historic, and it's located right across from the famous market square where Joan of Arc was executed. Steeped in history, this place is perfect for epicureans, for those who love to take their time and savor culinary art.

More than just dinner, a true culinary journey! Everything was excellent from appetizer to dessert; it was a feast for the senses, a delight for the taste buds. Thomas and Frantz took excellent care of us all evening; they were very professional and efficient, with a touch of humor. Special mention goes to the preparation of the duck, which was incredible and very impressive—a real spectacle! We will gladly return and highly recommend this restaurant.

23/03/2026: I went there for dinner with my wife and her father. I ordered the lamb shank (€28) because it's my favorite meat when it's cooked properly. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed because the piece of meat looked beautiful, but it wasn't cooked correctly. It easily deserved two more hours... The meat was still stuck to the bone. It also had a very strong flavor (much more so than a well-braised lamb shank). So yes, very disappointed... The wine list was very good; the Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois at €39 a bottle was excellent. 👌 The cheeses were very mature... (perhaps even a little too much?). We also battled a swarm of midges (and unfortunately, this was also the case on our last visit). The waitress offered us homemade limoncello, which was very kind, but it didn't make up for our overall experience, unfortunately. 🙏
19/03/2026: Group meal...60 people. Efficient and well-paced service. Very pleasant staff. Excellent meal. Beautifully presented and flavorful dishes. Quality wine selection. We had a lovely evening.
