Le Maupassant sur Rouen

We had made a dinner reservation as a precaution, but it may not have been necessary as it was not yet high season. Walk-ins were welcome. The menu has many options to choose from. We used Google Translate to decipher the menu. Like many bistros, they had a set menu of entree and plat (appetizer and main dish) or plat and dessert (main dish and dessert). My daughter and I recommend the Duck L'orange. My son enjoyed his burger with camembert sauce and my husband's steak was nicely prepared, though it was more medium than medium -rare. Service was warm and attentive and the meals were well-priced. We had a train to catch and they were considerate in ensuring we could enjoy our meal with time to make our way over to the train station. After exploring the sights, dining here was a wonderful way to end our visit to Rouen!

A pleasant spot for lunch or drinks in Rouen's central market square. It has a terrace where you can enjoy oysters while admiring the curious church dedicated to Joan of Arc.

Nice restaurant, but a little disappointed by the somewhat slow and casual service. I had a charcuterie platter as a starter, which was a classic choice, but unfortunately served with stale bread. For my main course, the chicken tenderloin with mushrooms wasn't bad, but it was very simple and classic, which is a shame because your restaurant has a lot of potential. I think you should review the recipes and improve a few things.
