What a place steeped in history, both for its claim to be the oldest inn in France and for its walls adorned with portraits of well-known figures who have dined here. A charming welcome from a very elegantly dressed lady, without a reservation, on a lunchtime. Impeccable service from a very classy young man, and excellent food as well. In short, a flawless experience for us.

A journey through time and space… Surrounded by photos of celebrities from around the world—including Julia Child visiting La Couronne in 1949—we savored the famous sole meunière in particular—exceptional! 👌 The service was more humorous and whimsical. A legendary dining room. A truly memorable experience!

Special meal in a special place! The historic setting was super cool and beautifully maintained. Our server, Jacob, was incredibly attentive, engaging, and gave great recommendations. I am gluten free and he said that was no problem at all. They could adapt most of the menu. I got a four course meal and felt great! The food was wonderful and locally sourced. Thankful to find a place with such outstanding service, scenery, and food! *Booking a reservation in advance is highly recommended as it fills up quickly. Worth it!!

03/08/2026: It's perfect. It's not my first time here; the atmosphere, the food, and the service are all really good. I love the cozy feel. It's a great place. The only slight drawback is that I would have preferred a real napkin instead of a paper one.

08/04/2026: A meal with two of my sons, who are usually picky eaters. Everyone was happy. The dining room is quiet, the service excellent, quick, and above all, friendly. A restaurant I highly recommend for the quality of its menu, its daily specials, and its freshness. An institution and an excellent brasserie in Rouen. Bravo! 👏👏👏
