Restaurant La Quincaillerie sur Montendre

Superb restaurant right in the heart of Montendre. A shop and wine cellar are on the ground floor, with an open kitchen and dining area upstairs. The tables are spaced along the exposed stone walls, creating a chic bistro atmosphere. The menu is short and enticing. A very good Sancerre to accompany the snails with chanterelles, a perfectly seasoned steak tartare as a starter, followed by roast guinea fowl (breast and leg) with braised cabbage. The monkfish and scallops were also delicious. The portions are generous, the sauces flavorful, and the ingredients top-notch. A wonderful experience, with quick and friendly service. €60 per person for a starter, main course, and wine in the evening. Well worth it, we'll be back.
