Good value for money. Simple and efficient! The food is hot! Impeccable service and the chef's interaction with customers was appreciated. The presence of several dogs at the tables and in the kitchen wasn't entirely in line with expected hygiene standards, but it should be noted that the entire restaurant is very clean.

Eleven of us went for my birthday on October 4th. It's a very, very good restaurant, with a lovely atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff. I think the prices are reasonable for good food. I had a cordon bleu with cream sauce, served with mushrooms; it was excellent.

Very good pizzeria in Châtenois! We had an excellent pizza at La Romanella: fresh and well-balanced ingredients. Warm welcome and fast service. A place to recommend without hesitation!

So we absolutely disagree with two or three comments saying they're bad people and the food is meh. The people are wonderful, welcoming, kind, and attentive. They bend over backwards to satisfy you... Very, very good food. The rolls are to die for 😉 Go for it, you won't regret it 🤗

I'm giving it a 4-star rating because perfection doesn't exist, but the pizza I had [La Romanella] was delicious. The staff is courteous and fast, the dining room is well decorated, and the atmosphere is warm, but I'm giving it a 3-star rating because the size of the place makes it noisy. Otherwise, nothing to complain about; I recommend it, whether for a family meal or a casual date. I'll be back 🙂👍

21/01/2026: A wonderful hotel restaurant in Châtenois with a warm, home‑like atmosphere. The impressive collection of teddy bears 🧸 gives the place a unique and charming character. Very friendly staff and a welcoming hostess - you feel genuinely well taken care of. We started with foie gras and toasted bread, paired with a Porto aperitif over ice - excellent. For the main course, I had Poulet au Riesling with Spätzle, perfectly cooked and flavorful, paired with a lovely Pinot Gris. My companion ordered the escalope de veau, also very good. No place for dessert after all 🫣, but the espresso was outstanding - thick, aromatic, rich. The place gets busy, so reservations are recommended - we were lucky to get a table on Sunday. Cozy, authentic Alsatian cuisine and hospitality. Highly recommended😍

Hotel Dontenville

21/12/2025: Beautiful heritage hotel in a beautiful town. Despite arriving late we were warmly greeted by the hotel staff who made sure we had the best possible experience. We could park our car for free in the car park next to the hotel . The rooms were comfortable and cosy, the staircase is magnificent with lots of delightful historical features. The restaurant on site is very pleasant where we had a very tasty breakfast. It's a great spot for families, our children loved the hotel and we had a unique experience learning about the history and practicing french. The owners gave us a lot of great tips for sightseeing in Alsace and we ended up having a great holiday. Thank you!
