Restaurant La Sauldre sur Vailly-Sur-Sauldre

Enjoyed a lovely dinner after a long journey; we stayed at the owner's adjacent B&B. As a starter, the delicious burrata salad; for the main course, a very tasty steak tartare (my wife had snails); and to finish, delicious cheeses. He rolls up with the cheese cart from which you can pick out some cheese yourself; pair this with an excellent port and the enjoyment is complete! Delightfully authentic decor, friendly and fast service, wide selection on the menu. Very pet-friendly and just nice to order in the Dutch way (or French, if you can).

Twan is an excellent owner and very attentive to his customers.

We came as a family on Saturday at lunchtime; the meal was delicious, and the welcome was wonderful. We had a baby and a dog with us, and the owner was amazing—humorous and quick to respond. We highly recommend this restaurant.
