Very very good experience, friendly welcome, excellent meal, à la carte meal or menu of your choice for an affordable price. All served with humor and a smile, you'll feel like you're at home. The room decorated with very good taste, with fridge, kettle, fresh water….. breakfast included in the price with roll, croissant, fruit juice, fruit, baguette, butter, various jams, chocolate/coffee… so for us , we will see each other again for sure and good luck Sabine and Didier (ch'ti)
Meal this day (rabbit paste, fries, salad) very good, plentiful, fresh and homemade products, local gastronomy, and the managers are very friendly! Easy parking and quiet restaurant 👍🏼

After a nice, but underwhelming couple of days in Rouen, a recommendation took us to the sleepy village of Buire-le-Sec and, more specifically, La Taverne.
It was a wonderful experience - the rooms are perfectly rustic. No roll top baths or super king beds here (nor should they be) but everything you need in a clean room with a super comfy bed and a 10/10 shower!! The area is silent ….. set up on the plateau, surrounded by farmers’ field after farmers’ field.
The hosts open up the bar/restaurant at 7pm and are wonderfully friendly throughout (we developed our own form of Franglish to cope with the language barrier!) A cold beer followed by a budget friendly 3-course meal of proper home cooked French food. Not much else I could ask for …..
