L'Alpette in Megève is located in a beautiful high altitude location. However, the service can be quite long. Perfect for enjoying the view and the mountain atmosphere, but be prepared to wait a bit to be served.

We had lunch at the Alpette on Tuesday March 5th inside because it was snowing. We hesitated to go there because of some comments about the service and food poisoning…. The service was perfect, fast, smiling and the dishes very good, yes it is a little expensive but these are MEGEVE prices…. (thank you very much to the two people who took care of our family, we were in the right side when we returned, I don't have their first names)

We visited l'Alpette on a day when there was sleet and rain. We were well received and served. We ate Tartiflette, a Savoie specialty. The price level is quite high.

It's not a bad place for a break. However you need to know that it does not have the liveliness of other mountain restaurants.

Accueil sympathique. Cadre chaleureux. Comme d’habitude. Dommage qu’il n’y ait plus le coquelet pour nos enfants, qui en raffolent.

Wow, what a simply superb meal, seriously friendly service, sublime food, great setting. We have been eating here for over 30 years, but it’s our first visit since the terrible fire that destroyed the restaurant. For sure now the interior is different, but the decor and ambience are still great. Attentive and friendly service, the fillet steak with pepper corn sauce and dauphinoise potatoes was simply wonderful, the best and biggest fillet steak I’ve had in year, cooked rare to perfection. The chicken breast with morel sauce was equally good, all served by smiling and attentive staff. Yes you pay a bit more but the quality is more than worth it.

22/07/2024: Just driving around on a summer day we feel very lucky to find this restaurant It’s just by the Mont D’Arbois lift on the road to the Megeve Altiport and situated above a (closed in Summer) ski hire shop You need to climb stairs at the side and will find yourself on a lovely sunny spacious terrace Alternatively you might approach from above, golf driving range in Summer, piste in Winter Always a good sign for us is when French workmen are eating their lunch as it signifies quality and value, and yes, they were here We had simple but wholesome food and everyone was so friendly with nothing too much trouble for them Best croque ever! It may not be posh but we loved it and will make a point of returning on skis
