Restaurant le Genepi sur Saint-Bon-Tarentaise

Our pleasure stopover in Courchevel: refined setting without fuss, attentive welcome and service, and always the chef's cuisine, both traditional - the pot au feu! - and creative, often with local products.

We booked for 2 for Christmas. The 2 starters, the main course and the cheese plate were impeccable, but the dessert at the price of the special Christmas menu was very disappointing, a frozen Christmas log which had no real taste with a dressing that was a little too simple really. 'opposite of the rest of the dinner which had won us over. Big disappointment for the dessert which leaves us with a mixed opinion...

Made our New Year's Eve dinner in Courchevel so special. Thanks to Cecile and her team who were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and one of the most value for money in the mountains. The atmosphere was very cosy and homey. We couldnt have asked for a better experience.

We ordered three dishes out of the menu and 2/3 were just non-consumable. The choice of dishes for the menu is also questionable, I’m not a picky eater but I was not attracted to most dishes. The chicken tasted very bland and as if it was boiled; the risotto was honestly a joke - it was inedible and tasted like old porridge that was left on a window for a week. Also, the noix de saint jacques was okay but the choice of the sides was just not tasty at all. The owner was very defensive and not helpful when we approached to tell her about our disappointment in their food. Very disappointed in this place. UPDATE!!!!! Went this year (2023) and the food, service - everything is absolutely amazing. I think they’ve changed their menu a bit as well and it shows - every single dish was delicious. I am honestly shocked how much they have changed, amazing!!!!
