Great kindness on the part of the owner who has a permanent smile with the customers, something to be taught to anyone who tries their hand at hospitality. The food is also good and plentiful, the rustic atmosphere is warm.

Nice place in the center of Bourges. Although the hour is not late, many places have already closed in this brasserie they welcomed us with courtesy and availability. Good meat grilled right in front of us.
Good beers, good meat, cold cuts and wine.
I recommend it if only because many other places in the center rejected us, it was only 9.30pm and they didn't bat an eyelid. They welcomed us and prepared the meat by putting charcoal on the spot.
I recommend it, you eat well, it's a nice environment and you feel good

Small, friendly restaurant with tasty and hearty dishes.
The meats are grilled over a wood fire, the fries are homemade and congratulations to the chef for his succulent blue cheese sauce.
As for the service, it is impeccable, smiles, friendliness and speed are there.
I loved it and I recommend it!

Tasty experience in this restaurant located in a pedestrian street in Bourges, where the restaurants are just a touch away! Pleasure of dining outside without passing cars. Dinner for 3, and all satisfied with the chosen dish, well garnished. Tasted a rarity these days: a horse tartare, with unusual but good sauces. A big thumbs up for the fried potatoes. Very satisfied with our dinner (tab for one, sausage and bacon lentils for the other), and with our server, very friendly and joking. An address that we will remember for our next stay in Bourges!

In a pleasant setting, the Guillotin benefits from the general atmosphere of Place Gordaine, one of the last living places in Bourges. Taste-wise, we found the hot goat's cheese salad lean with certainly a lot (too much) salad but only two pieces of goat's cheese. However, the entrecôte was qualitatively perfect and excellently cooked. The idea of sharing fries isn't unpleasant either! The prices remain correct taking into account the location and the quality of the products. This remains a good address.

A desire for meat grilled by the fireplace?
This is the restaurant you should go to in Bourges.
I have been attending Le Guillotin since 1984...
Prime rib for 2 with its Terrine and its pot of rillettes to “keep them waiting” for the cooking time ;-)
Also XXL andouillette. Homemade fries. Good advice for wine.
The bill is not the lightest in the Place de Bourges but...if we talk about quality/price it is very correct.

12 € une assiette, rôti de porc salade frites. Copieux..
La serveuse est souffrante, je la plains.. Travailler pour gagner sa croûte...
Une pause dans ce vieux quartier de Bourges.. Parfait !

This was just what we were looking for; a decent dinner of no nonsense food and a decent beer. Sitting outside on a Friday evening in June. A great choice of beers and food ordered from the chalkboard menu by the entrance. This restaurant is not pretending to be anything it isn’t and it is so much better for it. The entrecôte was cooked to perfection and was a decent size. The duck was simply enormous and cooked well. The highlight though has to be the fries. Imagine crisps really thickly cut, and I mean really thickly cut and then fried as chips. Ruddy marvellous!!
Not bad value at €70 all in including drinks.
I’d recommend it.
