Restaurant Le Mandarin sur Montpellier

The Mandarin restaurant, hidden in the small streets near the Observatory, is a real gem that deserves to be discovered. Despite its discreet location, it was a pleasant surprise. The service is provided by a single person who, in addition to taking care of the kitchen, carefully ensures that each customer has an excellent culinary experience. His kindness and attention to detail added a human warmth to the experience. The Peking duck soup was a marvel, rich in flavors and perfectly balanced. The spring rolls, for their part, were fresh and crispy, just the way we like them. But my real favorite was the Cantonese rice, undoubtedly one of the best I have tasted, with authentic flavors and an impeccable texture. To end the meal on a sweet note, I tasted apple fritters, which are clearly worth the detour, and the banana flambé, simple but tasty. In summary, Mandarin is a hidden gem that I highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine and attentive service.

Lovely friendly service and fantastic food. Great value and definitely worth a visit. I'll be going back next time I'm in Montpellier.

Excellent ! This restaurant reconciled me with Chinese cuisine that I had been avoiding following bad experiences. I had imperial pâté (nems), duck with 5 flavors (incredible sauce) and Cantonese rice: it was really good. I also tasted the caramel beef, the Chinese cake as well as the apple and banana fritters and it was great :) Thank you very much for this good cuisine and the warm welcome <3

It’s the best Chinese restaurant I’ve eaten in in my entire life, everything is of much better quality than in other restaurants I’ve been to! I think almost everything was homemade. It’s a very small restaurant that you don’t even notice, which deserves more publicity, I highly recommend

We’ve been coming here for years when visiting Montpellier always great service and tasty dishes. Looking forward to returning next year
