Restaurant Le Savoie sur Margaux

Rack of lamb unworthy of a fine dining restaurant. The meat was barely cooked and impossible to cut.

This was our first time at this restaurant, and it will be our last. The service and communication need improvement: - We were informed of an allergy when an amuse-bouche was presented, but the same allergen was found in the main course. - We were asked if we wanted to wait between the aperitif and the main course, to which we replied yes. In the end, the main courses were served before we had even had a chance to touch the aperitif... so we ate our main courses almost cold. - The long wait between the main course and dessert was paradoxical, given the length of the rest of the meal. The food was decent overall, but absolutely not commensurate with the prices charged.

The owner/chef is a bit gruff, the service is incredibly fast, we didn't even have time to enjoy an aperitif. The dishes were good and generously portioned. Very reasonable prices on the brasserie menu.

From the outside, you might expect a high-quality gourmet restaurant... But that's far from the truth, and we were frankly disappointed. The food is rather mediocre, even if there is some effort put into the presentation. The ambiance is very peculiar: skulls on the tablecloths, tropical greenhouse-style decor with large cacti near the tables, a gravel floor, and a few stone slabs serving as the only pathways, which the waitress has to navigate with great balance. The ceiling is low (large burlap tarpaulins are attached under the glass structure), and the chairs aren't always in good taste... (See photo). Taste is precisely what seems to be lacking at every level in this place, which could undoubtedly offer much more. To end on a positive note, however, the welcome was friendly and the waitress pleasant.

A wonderful discovery. Beautiful decor, lovely cozy atmosphere, very warm welcome, and perfectly cooked meats. I highly recommend it.

An exceptional restaurant. The kind that's so rare these days. Thank you for the wonderful meal we shared as a family for my daughter's birthday. We will be back.

I was a little disappointed with the dishes compared to what the menu described. For my starter, I ordered smoked tuna tataki with mango, passion fruit, and pomegranate sauce. The sauce was just chopped fruit, and they added a scoop of lemon sorbet. I was expecting a dish with Japanese influences, but it felt more like dessert. The main courses were good, but they could be better. And all the dishes came with a roasted tomato and a mini roasted pepper. It lacked originality. In short, it was a bit pricey for what it was. A real shame.
