Restaurant Les Briques Rouges sur Veyre-Monton

We had a lovely time celebrating a birthday at Les Briques Rouges. The venue, the food, and the service are excellent.

Average experience. The starter was generous but simple, and the charcuterie board was basic. However, the main course, sweetbreads, had some burnt pieces and was too salty. I mentioned this to the waitress, and the manager came over, but all he said was that not everyone likes salt and that they can't always get the cooking right. For a €28 dish, that's unacceptable. I won't be going back. You have to be wary of restaurants that are always full; it doesn't mean anything.

A very good experience. I'm taking off one star for slightly slow service and a friendly but not very observant waitress who needed to be reminded several times of our requests (ashtray, or order placement), but I admit it was very busy. After that, it was fine. The setting was superb, a bit like a casual outdoor café. I'd definitely go back.

We booked for our anniversary and were surprised by the negative reviews. The food is delicious and plentiful, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the service extremely responsive. We will definitely return 😊
