the joue de boef and the duck very good. Recommended. The very kind guys guided me with the choice of lactose-free dishes, eliminating the parts that I couldn't eat (flakes in the carpaccio and ice cream in the crumble).
The gentleman who welcomed us however was not as helpful. When I went in to ask for another fork, seeing as I had dropped it, he responded in a less than polite manner, first not understanding and then sending me back to the table without ever appearing with the fork (what does it take to understand "fourchette"?).

If you are passing through Caen, come in without hesitation. Second visit for us, the quality and welcome are still there. Don't trust negative Google or TripAdvisor comments, certainly from embittered competitors or pompous Parisians. Ps Virant olive oil and Haut Médoc Beauséjour Hostens are excellent for beef cheek. 😇 and guts 😮🙏 heaven

Attractive storefront, a very pleasant waiter unfortunately it stops there. A priori the chef did not come and an oven failed which led to a lot of waiting and customers leaving...but not only that...
The salmon egg starter, very small and very salty, the dried prawns, the burger quite good but the camembert sauce non-existent, the beef in a very good sauce and the desserts were nice. Mojito too sweet.

We ate all dishes to share. The spectacular oysters. All very rich. The very normal chocolate coulant dessert. However, the service is extremely slow. They are friendly and polite but the atmosphere is tense and you almost feel embarrassed asking them for something. If you reserve, reserve on the terrace.

A menu at €36 at the top. “Unusual” salad with an exceptional sauce, excellent Caen-style tripe, visibly homemade dessert (not frozen). Meal was a little darkened by the rain on the terrace, but that did not detract from the quality of the meal.
