Excellent restaurant, great value for money, quality of the meal, and a very pleasant waiter. The current rating is unjustified, especially considering its location in the heart of the Vauqueux district. I highly recommend it.

Simply remarkable! Quality local produce, carefully prepared, all in the heart of one of Caen's most beautiful and historic neighborhoods. The decor is stunning, and the service and hospitality are excellent, all at a reasonable price. We will definitely return. Thank you to the entire L'insolite team.

We had a wonderful time at this charming little restaurant. Its decor, the maître d'hôtel, and his sense of humor were all quite unique. The meal was delicious and the staff very pleasant. We'll definitely be back.

Discovered this restaurant in Caen, we are satisfied with the food, the location, service a little slow. The dishes are fresh, fine. Perhaps a little expensive....... I recommend this place.

The neighborhood is typical and very pretty. This restaurant is a great discovery with excellent menus and very good value for money. We had a great time. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. A great culinary memory.

Excellent cuisine, very pleasant dining room except that the boss is execrable, he would do better to pass the baton to people more competent than him, I don't understand how waiters can stay with such an execrable guy.

27/02/2026: Very good, and the lunchtime price is a good deal at €22. I recommend it.
30/11/2025: A wonderful discovery, reservations are recommended. The food was excellent, with one small drawback: the pear dessert (a fork and knife would have been helpful). To add variety, the lunch menu is different from the dinner menu. Well done to the chef and his team! Happy holidays!
