Restaurant Philippe Bohrer sur Rouffach

A skillfully crafted menu centered around truffles (it was the theme of the menu and a delightful discovery). But alas, the service is lacking, quite unfriendly (except for the younger staff, who clearly take things to heart): one almost misses the days when the place was still called La Ville de Lyon. It was for my partner's birthday (I had taken the trouble to call ahead): no attention whatsoever, apologies swallowed for the oversight, no gesture to try and make amends for the inconvenience caused by this oversight (we would have appreciated a little something... but there was absolutely nothing). Ask to avoid the table directly below the air conditioning, which is blasting during the heatwave (this choice is baffling, given that other tables are available in the dining room). In short: extremely disappointing service, which is not up to the standard of either the food or the setting. We'll come back for the food...

A superb evening. A calm and very cozy place, with impeccable service and a warm welcome. The food was a delight for everyone, even better than some Michelin-starred restaurants. The summer menu featuring truffles is remarkable, offering wonderful discoveries with exceptionally fragrant summer truffles. I particularly recommend the sea bass fillet, a true marvel for the senses. Likewise, the revisited blackcurrant vacherin will provide a perfect ending. Thank you to the entire team for this simply divine experience.

Good value for money Professional service

A very warm welcome, impeccable and fast service, it's always a pleasure to eat in this restaurant with creative cuisine, delicious and well-presented dishes.

We had a lovely evening as a group in a private room with a very warm welcome. The dishes were beautifully presented. We opted for the set menu of the week, but I deducted a star because I ordered the garlic shrimp appetizer—a serious mistake. It was completely off-balance; the garlic flavor overpowered everything and numbed my palate, preventing me from enjoying the rest of the meal. I'm very disappointed. I'm writing this review the next day, and the garlic taste is still there. I can't even say if the main course and dessert were good. My friends ordered a glass of wine with their meal, but unfortunately, we were forgotten. By the time the waiter returned to ask for our drinks, some of our guests had already finished their meals and therefore no longer needed them. A real shame. I also deducted a star for this reason. They sell us a dream of a semi-gastronomic restaurant, but honestly, there are things that need improvement both in the kitchen and the dining room.

We have been frequenting this restaurant for several years, mainly for special occasions. The food is excellent and the quality is consistently high. If I'm deducting a star, it's due to a few minor issues. On our first visit, we filled out a form to take advantage of a gift offer for our upcoming birthdays. On my birthday, our reservation hadn't been registered, but fortunately, the staff found a solution, and we were able to use the offer. Recently, we made a reservation on my partner's birthday. We were told that there was no longer any record of our forms and that, in any case, the offer wasn't valid on Saturday evenings. This conflicting information is regrettable and deserves clarification. Finally, one last point: during a heatwave, the air-conditioned dining rooms are pleasant, but the upstairs restrooms become unbearably hot. Despite these few remarks, we continue to appreciate this restaurant for the quality of its cuisine.
