The place is very clean. You can watch the chefs cooking in front of you. The servers are lovely; I just found the broth I ordered a little salty, so I'll order a different broth next time.

For those who appreciate Japanese cuisine, this establishment is a must: choice of broths, quality of service and ramen, Ippudo is simply delicious!

We just happened to walk by. And we'd already eaten at Isshin Ramen the day before. I have to say, their ramen wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. Plus, it was more expensive than at Isshin Ramen. What was good was the egg and the choice of noodle texture. It was also happy hour, and a 0.5-liter Kirin for €5 is fantastic for Paris, which I think is great. What was awful was the music. Harsh saxophone music in the background. And what stressed me out was that they wanted a tip when I paid by card. I declined, since tips are included in Paris.

I forgot to take a picture of the fried squid. I came here alone, and from afar, the restaurant looked cute, so I went in. The food might be good, but it's not authentically Japanese. Regarding the fried squid, it wasn't the typical Japanese fried squid, and I was surprised there was no Japanese mayonnaise. Japanese food always comes with Japanese mayonnaise (the kind Kewpie that almost every Japanese restaurant has). I asked a staff member and she seemed quite shocked that I wanted mayonnaise for my fried squid. As for the ramen I ate today, I ordered a spicy Karaka ramen for 17.5 euros. Compared to ramen restaurants in Europe in general, and in France in particular, the ramen broth here lacks umami; it's more like a Chinese-style hybrid. There was only one piece of charsu (sliced ​​quite thick) and one egg. The noodles in the ramen weren't Japanese ramen noodles either. The fact that the noodles originated in China doesn't mean they use Chinese noodles. I went to another ramen restaurant in the same District 2 area, and I have to say the broth, noodles, and generous portions of meat were much better quality. The staff included a tall, slender young woman who was cheerful and friendly. Perhaps because I'm Asian, my standards for Asian cuisine are a bit more demanding. I hope the restaurant will improve and continue to grow.
