A very pleasant surprise for a dinner stop at a motorway service area (Vendée region), where you don't usually find quality food. Here, the ingredients are simple, but the hot dishes are well-prepared, fresh, and appetizing (the starter buffet is very nice). The dining room is clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly.

For a highway rest area, I think the cafeteria offers a really good value for money. The chef, who is super friendly, offers a wide variety of choices, including homemade mashed potatoes and sauces, and when he tells you it's to die for, you can believe it!!! The peppercorn sauce and mushroom sauce were top-notch!!!! The meat was also good quality and well worth the €16.50 price tag. What's more, the establishment is pleasant and very well-kept. The restrooms are very clean. It's a really nice place to take a break on the road.

We were on the road to Vendée when we happened to come across this motorway service area with this cafeteria. So we stopped and had dinner. It was delicious, the pork shank was very good, the service was responsive and pleasant. I recommend this establishment.

Le Pub Des Halles
