Resto Bar Alex sur Les Vignes

Hiking around the Causse Méjean in a group, we spent the night in Alex's hotel restaurant on the banks of the Tarn. In the guesthouse we ate the unmissable Aligo sausage in the evening. We received a perfect welcome from Alex and we are returning with great pleasure.

I stopped for lunch and I ate quite well. The setting is also nice. I am only disappointed by the fact that I had ordered a menu (starter / main course / dessert or cheese) with a coffee and the manager did not want to pay me for the coffee, as I had not ordered dessert or cheese. A goodwill gesture would have been welcome. I also really appreciated the waitress Nathalie with all her character 😀.

While hiking the GR 736, we stopped at Alex's. We were very pleased with the welcome, the room, and the restaurant. We had a wonderful evening. Danièle and Daniel from Landes.

Welcoming hosts, comfortable rooms, spotless

I had the starter, main course, dessert menu: Gourmet salad, 3 meat platter and crème brûlée. Summary: Substantial, quality products, beautiful view of the river from the terrace, affordable price, friendly staff. The crème brûlée was well flavored with vanilla and not bitter, the sausage is high quality and the sirloin steak is cooked perfectly (not dry)

We arrived by chance and wanted to visit the Tarn Gorges, so we stopped there. Very warm welcome. We had dinner on the terrace: sausage, aligot, simply, simply good! Very good service. The appetizers (spritz and morito) are very generous 🙂. So, we took a room where we slept very, very well. Clean, spacious. Simple breakfast: coffee, croissant, baguette, butter, and jam. More than enough. We had dinner there again: gizzard salad, duck breasts, it was super good. And the duck confit was also super good. I don't understand the 4.4/5 rating.... People are getting more and more picky.... This isn't a Michelin-starred restaurant, it's just a small, unpretentious establishment with simple, no-frills items. Just the way we like them. We come to the Tarn to enjoy nature, the real thing, like Alex's!
