Ristorante Sole Mio Victor Hugo sur Paris

We’ve been to Paris numerous times and have a restaurant that we tell friends is our favorite. Well, as of tonight, we have a new favorite. This is a charming, old school Paris restaurant. Tables very close together, the waiter pulls the table out so the lady can slip into the banquette, real candles on the table. Dim, romantic. (The only downside was I needed the light on my phone to read the menu. A small sacrifice to make.) We had a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night. Only three other tables occupied when we go there. Packed by the time left. If you go, I’d strongly recommend a reservation. The waiter was very charming. His opening line was, “Would you like a glass champagne to help you read the menu?” Bien sûr! He proceeded to explain how this one was a little different while we enjoyed it. Speaking of wine, they had something I’ve never seen before: you can order top shelf wines by the glass without having to spring for the whole bottle. We split the bone marrow appetizer. This is one of my wife’s favorites, and this one was excellent. Perfectly salty, served with toasted crusty bread. For the entree, I had the beef tartare. Ones doesn’t see it much in the US, so I always get it. This one was really good. The real star of the show was the special, steak topped with a piece of foie gras. The French way of doing a steak is they reverse seer it in a cast iron skillet and then roast it in the oven to the desired temperature, is this case medium rare. I don’t know whether they pan fry the foie gras or roast it with the meat, but the combination of the two was truly spectacular. It was served with excellent mashed potatoes. Victor will definitely get an encore.

Fresh fries, but the burger of the day cost over €15, a similar portion size and quantity to the snack burger on the menu for under €10. I was disappointed to pay extra for a slice of Reblochon cheese, which the waitresses used to justify the price difference. The prices are still high, comparable to those in the city center, for a neighborhood that isn't very attractive and is primarily frequented by workers.

This restaurant had become complacent, but it's woken up! :) Beautiful and delicious dishes, excellent wine cellar. Thank you to sommelier Jean Antoine for his advice and service!

We really enjoy going to this restaurant, where the value for money is excellent. The Sunday lunch menu (€26!) is unbeatable. Last Sunday, however, we were taken aback by a remark from the manager (who is otherwise very competent) who, when we went to order coffees at 3:30 pm (a group of 8 who arrived at 1 pm), made it clear, with a sigh, that it was time to leave... we were speechless... and very disappointed... Will we come back?

I had a fantastic Valentine's Day evening with my husband at Victor in Paris. From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely wonderful—so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made the evening even more special. The service was seamless and professional, and we felt completely at ease throughout the entire meal. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly executed. The wine selection was also excellent, with a lovely range of choices and some truly great wines. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and romantic—ideal for celebrating Valentine's Day. We had a truly relaxing and memorable time together. I highly recommend it for a special dinner or a lovely evening out. We will definitely be back. 🍷✨

We had a wonderful evening with friends thanks to the restaurant's warm and elegant atmosphere. The servers, along with a very passionate sommelier, were attentive and caring. The dishes were beautifully presented and as delicious as they were beautiful. We left delighted and certain we would return. The value for money at this Parisian restaurant is unbeatable.

The real French cousin with a light spices, curiousity and delicious taste. Good vine list, fast and smily service. Relaxing & simple vibe.

A hidden gem to discover! For a dinner for two, we paired sweetbreads with a good bottle of Côte-Rôtie and it was a whole new experience. Thank you to the sommelier!
