It was very good, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, family-run, and respectful. Beautiful decor. Lots of choices of maki and sushi 🍣 and fresh fish 🐟. Lots of dessert choices: tiramisu, verrines, tarts, and ice cream. Good service.

Best Chinese restaurant in Carcassonne, I recommend it

I can't say I recommend it: the restaurant is outdated (both the decor and the facilities) and the buffet is limited in choice and of mediocre quality. It's not good value for money (I think €24.50 is expensive considering the quality). On the plus side: the staff is quite pleasant and the wok dish is good.

For almost 17 years, I've been traveling in Asia without ever leaving Carcassonne. Not far from the airport and the Clinique Montréal is the Royal Carcassonne. Long before the royal fortresses of Languedoc even bore that name. Of course, French gastronomy is listed as part of France's intangible cultural heritage, just like the medieval city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi. Both are UNESCO World Heritage sites. So an all-you-can-eat buffet might seem excessive. Set menus start at €17. And where else can you find white rice as good as this? And this sea bream, these crispy shrimp with a touch of chili? Only here. The Royal Carcassonne Asian Restaurant is a place that caters to all tastes. Personally, I'm not a big fan of fritters or fried food. But I was able to create my own menu, my own wok, prepared right in front of me after a short wait. Another advantage of the restaurant: it easily accommodates groups. And there's free parking. Cars parked easily. No need to decipher a complicated menu: everything is right in front of you, visible, accessible, and unlimited. What continent is larger than the human stomach? Perhaps our eyes. Seeing is believing. But beware! For the stomach, any excess will eventually cost you. Sometimes the eyes dictate more than hunger. And here, waste costs €5. My advice: start humbly, with a small tasting plate, then return to the buffet if the desire persists. Once, twice, three times, as much as you like. For dessert, there's everything: tarts, pastries, flans, verrines, fruit, and the ice cream flavors were delicious: pistachio, crème caramel, strawberry, banana, accompanied by a mini éclair. In my opinion, a simple and successful selection. It's a place to indulge yourself, without any fuss: easy to understand, generous, and above all, affordable. Many try to copy this formula, but few manage to master this expertise built over time, through consistency and the quality of both the food and the service. This is Royal Carcassonne.
