A wonderful discovery in the heart of La Rochelle! Having numerous allergies and intolerances, I very rarely eat out. However, I wanted to try a sushi restaurant, and the reviews of Sakura piqued my curiosity. So I decided to see for myself… and what a treat! Without a doubt, the best Japanese restaurant I've ever eaten at. The fish is remarkably fresh, of excellent quality, and very tender. The skewers melt in your mouth, the sauces are delicious; you can clearly taste the expertise and the homemade quality. The storefront is very simple and the decor a bit retro, but that's precisely what gives the establishment its charm. The staff is extremely pleasant, attentive, and helpful. Admittedly, there's a bit of a wait, but that's because the dishes are prepared to order. An address to discover without hesitation… you can go there with your eyes closed!

It's been a long time since I've eaten such good sushi and maki! Fresh and flavorful, the homemade skewers are also delicious. The owners are lovely; I can't wait to come back.

I'm a sushi fan and a stickler for quality... and here we were served: very good fish, well-cut, little rice on the sushi (well-balanced), well-prepared rice (Japanese sushi rice with rice vinegar)... in short, REAL sushi with a good variety of fish. Even the wasabi is good. And the little lady who serves is adorable. I definitely recommend it!

Excellent sushi restaurant, the owners are lovely, we are welcomed in a warm family atmosphere. The sushi is refined, beautiful and delicious! The value for money is perfect! Big plus for us, dogs are welcomed like royalty, it's very appreciable. We recommend!
