SARTAJ sur Gap

After stopping in Gap for one night and finding this restaurant on trip adviser just had to write a quick review. Having travelled in France for many years we have never been to an Indian restaurant and thought we would give it a go and we were very pleased we did. The food is amazing, the biriani is a highlight and the staff were excellent and very welcoming. We would recommend to anyone who wants to try Indian food in the Alps.

Looking for a restaurant offering vegan dishes, we were happy to discover this restaurant. Welcome full of listening and kindness. Delicious dishes: lemony rice, fragrant lentils and delicately spiced vegetables. A great experience!

Probably the best Indian restaurant in France. Unpretentious, fresh, simple, delicious. I suggest making a reservation.

Although well hidden in a small pedestrian path and in a small tunnel, this restaurant is worth the detour. The food is exquisite and you have choices for everyone: spicy or not, vegetarian, meat, etc. It might be best to make a reservation as places seem a bit limited and it's a popular place. You also have the option of taking your meal to go if you live not too far away. The service was great too, I highly recommend!

A real Indian restaurant, hidden in an alley but so good. A real welcome, home-cooked meals, and good food. 😁

Sartaj offers delicious vegetarian dishes, their naans are excellent as well as the lassi. We always take away: they are welcoming and kind, the dishes are served at the agreed time. Treat yourself !
