I had the immense pleasure of discovering the tasting menu at Shang Palace, an experience that deserves the highest praise. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was exemplary, combining attentiveness, courtesy, and impeccable service. The setting, both elegant and refined, brilliantly blends Chinese tradition with modernity. The tasting menu is a true gastronomic journey, where each dish demonstrates remarkable culinary precision. The flavors, of unparalleled finesse, transport the taste buds to a world of delights. Special mention must be made of the perfectly executed Peking duck, as well as the exceptionally delicate dim sum. The service, for its part, is impeccable: attentive without ever being intrusive, it reflects a commitment to perfection in every detail to offer a truly unique experience.

The arrival of new chef Tony Xu brings a new menu with a few surprises from his native Sichuan region of China. You'll delight in dishes you won't find anywhere else in Paris, such as the uniquely textured "snow salad" or the "imperial chicken" cooked in a makeshift steamer basket, which must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. A particular favorite is the lobster with Gong Bao sauce—a true delight. The desserts are equally impressive, featuring divine Chinese specialties: soft balls and egg custard cakes... the perfect way to end a meal on a high note. The hotel bar on the ground floor offers a convivial atmosphere to conclude your evening.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting

Good meal, the crispy pork was delicious. The service was very good, in an elegant setting. The only downside was that the portions were a bit small, and we would have liked to eat a little more!

The food was delicious, as usual. We were delighted with our tasting menu and the thoughtful touches that accompanied it on our anniversary. However, there was a slight issue with the service. We waited half an hour for a menu, after asking for it several times. Then, a charming and very competent waiter looked after us throughout the meal, before politely informing us that he was taking his break while we were having our coffee. And then, there were practically no other waiters in the dining room. We had to wait 30 minutes to pay before retrieving our coats from the locker ourselves, just as two ladies who had left just before us had done. Then we left the restaurant without anyone saying goodbye…

The food and service are excellent; you truly feel privileged to dine in this exceptional setting. Congratulations to the chefs!

A wonderful evening in a very intimate setting! We truly enjoyed the carving of the Peking duck, served in two courses. Everything was delicious!
