Shin Jung sur Paris

Korean restaurants abroad tend to have a bit of an old-fashioned vibe, but this place has the atmosphere of a fine dining restaurant. The seasoned fried chicken I had as an appetizer and the spicy pork stir-fry as the main dish were really delicious, and the side dishes and soft tofu stew had a charmingly subtle, balanced flavor. Judging solely by the taste of the food, not just the Michelin ratings and other accolades, the owner seemed like a true master chef.

The friendly service from the staff and the food were truly amazing :)) I was surprised to hear that the chicken is crispier and tastier than in Korea, and the tteokbokki was truly the best, surprisingly so 👍👍 I highly recommend it! The soft tofu stew was also incredibly delicious, and I was so satisfied with the dumplings and other dishes that I didn't even miss Korea!! I wish you great success!

As a Korean American living in the New York/New Jersey area, I have fairly high standards for Korean food. I also travel to Paris several times a year, so I always make it a point to visit Shinjung whenever I'm in the city. Shinjung is, without question, one of the most authentic Korean restaurants in Paris. Unlike many overseas Korean restaurants that adjust flavors heavily for local tastes, the food here tastes remarkably close to what you would find in Korea. The kimchi has the proper balance of fermentation, the soups are rich and comforting, and the side dishes are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. What I appreciate most is the consistency and service. Whether I order galbi, bulgogi, bibimbap, or one of their stews, the quality has remained excellent over multiple visits. The meat is well-marinated without being overly sweet, and the portions are satisfying by Paris standards. The service is warm and efficient, and the staff make both Korean and international guests feel welcome. The restaurant itself has a comfortable, understated atmosphere that feels more like a neighborhood restaurant in Seoul than a tourist-oriented establishment. Having experienced Korean cuisine across the U.S., Korea, and Europe, I can confidently say that Shinjung is among the best Korean restaurants in Western Europe. If you're a Korean missing the taste of home, or if you're introducing someone to authentic Korean food in Paris, this is one of the first places I would recommend.

The owner was kind, and I was exhausted after coming to France today from the UK in Europe, but this felt the most like Korean food. Thanks to that, I was able to have a hearty meal, which was great.
