Sole Doree sur Orleans

A small, unique restaurant. The service is excellent; we were treated to the spectacle of the preparation of the sole, reconstructed from its four fillets, on two occasions. The dishes are beautiful, delicious, and original. And, unusually, the desserts are in the same spirit. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

On the outside in looks delapidated, but inside it is nice and comfortable. Then food is really outstanding! If you ever go to Orléans and are looking for a restaurant... Don't look further. This is it!

A wonderful discovery for seafood lovers! We called at the last minute on a Saturday at lunchtime, when the restaurant was already full and closing for service. Despite this, the waitress and the chef were kind enough to welcome us, and it didn't affect the quality of service at all, which remained impeccable from start to finish. We began with a delicious platter of oysters, shrimp, and whelks. For our main courses, skate for me and monkfish for my partner were perfectly cooked. Special mention goes to the dessert: homemade strawberry soup with verbena sorbet and cardamom cream—simply excellent. The chef, who took over the establishment a few years ago, works closely with the waitress, and their complementary skills make all the difference: a warm welcome, professionalism, and passion are all present. A three-course meal for €40 at lunchtime: excellent value for money. I highly recommend this place!

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The dishes were delicious, carefully prepared, and very delicate. The dining room is air-conditioned, which makes the meal particularly pleasant, especially in hot weather. The service was attentive, professional, and readily available throughout the meal. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for the quality of its cuisine and its warm welcome.

Discovering this little restaurant on a quiet street near the Loire River, we received a very warm welcome and excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered, worthy of a master chef, with beautifully presented plates. I highly recommend this delightful restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The welcome begins with a smile. The waitress was excellent, well done! The charming exposed beams of the dining room create a cozy atmosphere. From start to finish, Chef Jean-Yves Compain offers high-quality dishes with refined presentation that showcases the ingredients. Don't hesitate to step inside for a delightful experience.

We dined twice at this restaurant, just steps from our hotel. The first time, we had the place to ourselves! The second time, a couple came in shortly after our arrival. The cuisine focuses on fish and seafood, the flavors are vibrant, the presentations are lovely, and the service is friendly and efficient. From the oysters (number 5), the plaice stuffed with foie gras, the shrimp casserole, the monkfish cheek with herb sauce, the sturgeon fillets with shellfish sauce, the clementine gratin with Cointreau and mandarin sorbet, and the Sologne-style porcini mushrooms (a house specialty), everything was perfect, flavorful, and appetizing. The only slight disappointment for my wife was the shrimp casserole with tomato and arugula sorbet, which she found too bitter and overpowering (which allowed me to eat both...). It's a small restaurant tucked away on a side street; you could easily walk right past it. A place worth visiting without hesitation!
