Sur l'Ardoise sur Versonnex

Hello, With friends, all around 50 years old, we went to this restaurant around 9:00 PM. It has a large terrace, which was actually half empty. We asked if we could sit at a table and have a beer. The owner flatly refused us entry, even though the evening rush was over. It's quite incomprehensible to ask for a table without being customer-oriented, and especially unpleasant. So we went across the street to the pizzeria La Bohème, where the owner welcomed us with open arms, demonstrating true Italian hospitality and good cheer. I should mention that I had already dined there the previous year; the portions were rather small and the service wasn't great.

We came to celebrate a birthday and everyone was delighted. The products are high quality, the food is a real treat, the portions are generous, the staff is very pleasant, and the atmosphere is friendly. It was a new discovery for us, but we will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in a pleasant setting. Congratulations to the chefs for their wonderful work and also to the waitresses for the excellent service. See you soon!

A great find! The restaurant is wonderfully welcoming, the decor is superb, nothing to complain about. For my starter, I opted for a foie gras escalope. It was the first time I'd ever tasted cooked foie gras, and it was cooked to perfection! For my main course, I chose duck breast, cooked perfectly, but the sauce lacked flavor. Overall, though, it was excellent! And for dessert, I had a quince tart—I might have misspelled it, sorry—it was delicious. The portions seem small, but they're more than enough. Everything is perfectly measured so you don't have to worry about your pants button popping open! 😅 I highly recommend it! ✨

Excellent food, well managed and run by a couple who have worked hard for many years (and still do!) to create a nice real French restaurant. The sort of place you don’t find so easily anymore! Best to reserve as it can be quite full;)

Updated 11/14/25. My initial review only applies to lunchtime. This was my last experience at dinner. The quality is still there. But the prices are really high for small portions. The service is less friendly than it used to be. We are disappointed with the restaurant, which USED to be our favorite spot... 😕 Initial review / My favorite restaurant in the Pays de Gex! Best value for money in the region in my opinion. Over the years, the quality has been maintained. The welcome is always so pleasant. The decor has just been completely redone. The atmosphere is even more enjoyable.

The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and welcoming service, but the prices are quite high and the portions aren't huge. The ambiance is rather calm and elegant.

Fantastic dining experience with my family. Great service and delicious food (beef fillet, morel sauce, new potatoes). Highly recommended!
