Had the Ceasar salad and it was great. They had ran out of IPA and went next door to get me a pint. Very impressed

The Famous Pub in La Rochelle is a pub conveniently located on the Old Port. It boasts an excellent location with breathtaking views of the city's iconic towers and a beautiful terrace facing the harbor. It offers, among other things, a wide selection of beers on tap. A great place to enjoy the lively and festive atmosphere of La Rochelle's Old Port.

The burgers are good, nothing to complain about the food. But two consecutive visits were ruined by the seating and the service. Friday evening, despite a reservation, we were seated at a high table at the entrance, right in front of the terrace: the smell of cigarettes, a speaker above us, impossible to hear each other. Speaking to another server, we discovered that reservations are supposed to be placed at the back... So we had to move ourselves. Last night, there were six of us, reservation made a week in advance. We arrived at 7:30 p.m., the room was empty, and yet we were again placed at the entrance, under the speaker blasting loud music. We asked to be moved several times, but were categorically refused: "I'm putting the first customers up front to attract people." The result: having to shout to each other to talk all evening, with no attention or effort from the staff. Frankly, it's a shame: the food is good, but the rigid service and lack of customer consideration completely ruin the experience.
