The Melting Pot Pub sur Toulouse

The pub is amazing the atmosphere and service is 2nd to none. Bar staff friendly and helpful. All sports pub. Fans are welcome anytime of the day. Didn't try the food but if it's like the rest of the pub it will be unbelievable. Well done Melting Pot

Not a pairing I expected to find in a Irish pub in Toulouse while drinking a pint of cider on a hot summer day , but there it was: a slab of homemade Dubai-style chocolate cake, all crackling pistachio-kunafa-sesame+seeds crunch beneath a dark chocolate shell, topped with a profiterole stuffed with fresh raspberry jam and finished with a pour of custard. The cake itself delivered on the hype. The kunafa layer stayed genuinely crisp rather than going soggy under the chocolate, and the pistachio paste had that deep, toasted nuttiness rather than the sickly-green artificial stuff you sometimes get. It's rich — a few bites in and the sweetness starts to build — which is exactly where the profiterole earned its spot on the cake. The raspberry jam cut through with a sharp, tart snap, and the choux pastry was light enough that it didn't feel like a second dessert competing for space. The custard was the surprise!!. Poured just before serving, it pooled around the base and softened the whole plate into something closer to a bread-and-butter pudding — cozy, a little indulgent, very much at home in a pub setting despite the dish's flashier origins. Anyways, I very much enjoyed the Dubai chocolate cake and the pint of ice-cold cider to go with it, but I must say that the spoon to eat the cake is from a rather poor quality... One could say it's more like a spoon to stir your sugar in an expresso.. Can't wait to go back next time in Toulouse! Cheers guys and gals!
