The Red Lion sur Marseille

Very nice, especially on match nights

Always a great atmosphere at Red, a super spot to have a drink at the end of the day and enjoy the sunset, or later in the evening to party.

Visited one evening but couldn't get into the bar because I was wearing shorts. According to the bouncer (who was also wearing shorts), it was a bar where you had to be well-dressed to get in. However, the girls with us had no problem getting in wearing their Toulouse rugby jerseys. A shame, especially since the bar was empty...

The setting of this riad is truly magnificent, and you immediately feel transported by the tasteful decor, reminiscent of the warm atmosphere of traditional homes. The welcome is very friendly, and the entire team remains attentive from the beginning to the end of the meal. On the plate, the flavors are absolutely perfect, with generous portions and perfectly balanced spices. It's a real treat for the taste buds, and the dishes are prepared with great care. I give it 4 stars because the overall experience is excellent and very satisfying. Perhaps it lacks just a tiny bit of fluidity to reach absolute perfection, but it's a truly solid establishment that I highly recommend.

The waiter upstairs was incredibly rude; he practically threw my pizza at me because I asked for it to be cut into small pieces, which is perfectly normal. He even dared to tell me that if we do it for everyone, we'll never make ends meet, even though it was just a slice of pizza. I'll be back to the restaurant because everything else is perfect except for him. Because of his behavior, I'm deducting two stars. What a shame.

The Lion Rouge, once such an iconic Marseille nightlife spot on the seafront, is becoming a shadow of its former self. There was a time when this establishment was truly a place of vibrant, unpretentious life; now, unfortunately, it's descending into utter flinkéfitchism. Indeed, paying a hefty sum to sip a glass of spirits from a plastic container seems highly excessive and terribly lacking in any real "barjack" vibe. You're charging nightclub prices. Speaking of which, when are you going to ban drinking on the low wall in front of your establishment?

A classic, and it's so good, it shouldn't change!
