Ti' Coz sur Fontaines

Excellent restaurant. The food was superb and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable and the prices very reasonable.

This Sunday, September 27th, saw our return to one of the very best restaurants in the region, the beloved "Fables" in Fontaines! After an exceptionally warm welcome from Adeline, the hostess, we began with two young but well-made St. Véran wines and their delicate and flavorful amuse-bouches. For her starter, my wife chose a sesame-marinated trout, which was delicious, and I opted for a pan-fried medley of mushrooms served with lovely pieces of excellent foie gras...it was a promising start...and it certainly continued that way... For the main course, my wife continued with "fish and shellfish," and she was very glad she did with a lobster delicately placed on a squid ink risotto—divine! Personally, when Chef Julien offers his sweetbreads on the menu, I can't resist... They were served that day with fregola and leeks and an incredibly delicate and flavorful Béchamel sauce, a "real" Béchamel... After a lovely plate of four excellent cheeses, we both opted for the same dessert, even though at Les Fables it's always difficult to choose between the three equally delicious and beautiful options. So, my wife and I "found common ground" with a marvelous dessert: fresh figs with Fontaines honey, a thin, round layer of extraordinary flavor, beneath which lay a beautiful ice cream with caramelized walnuts... All these dishes were accompanied by a 2023 Givry Premier Cru, Clos Salomon from Sarrazin, which we thoroughly enjoyed, as it was a truly delightful wine. As always, lunch or dinner at "Les Fables" is a truly delightful experience that we always remember, but this Sunday was particularly memorable, thanks to José's excellent service and the expertise of Gautier, a promising young sommelier... ...and before leaving, we had the pleasure of thanking Adeline for her warm welcome and kindness, and also, on that day, for meeting Julien, this remarkable Chef, known for his inventiveness, the quality of his creations...and his unassuming manner. Bravo, Chef! Dear "Les Fables," thank you and see you very soon!

What a discovery!! Yesterday, I savored every course at lunch, from appetizer to dessert. The colors and creativity were everything I look for and love—a true delight for the taste buds. Thank you to the chef and his team. The service was impeccable and the staff pleasant. I highly recommend it.

Friendly welcome and atmosphere. Excellent menu and/or perfect daily specials. Delicious and superbly prepared dishes. A real treat. An address to remember.

On the side of the road but with a terrasse on the back. Nice setup, welcoming service (unless you are under tight time constraints, but we were not and the gentle pace was what we wanted), excellent food and drinks. And then before heading back on the road you can walk for miles and miles along the canal : great! Outside of the w/e you have a nice and cheaper option with the daily menu 👏!
