U Fuconu sur Figari

Everything was perfect, even the view of the wild boars... and the best part: the glass of myrtle tea offered at the end of the meal... I highly recommend it...

A traditional restaurant in the village of Figari, better known for its airport. You'll find yourself off the beaten track, with the added bonus of black pigs and wild boars that come every evening below the restaurant to beg for scraps!

Gorgeous views, incredible staff, and good food. We had a wonderful time eating, watching the pigs below, and sitting on their porch watching the World Cup.

An oasis of authenticity and hospitality in the heart of Corsica!!! You know how things go in the summer: between a dip in the sea, a quick shower, and the pleasure of aimless driving, schedules are inevitable. Around 1:45 PM, feeling hopeless, I called the Auberge u Foconu (a delightful little restaurant serving traditional Corsican cuisine about 20 minutes from Bonifacio) to ask if it was still possible to have lunch. A very kind gentleman answered and immediately reassured me: "Don't worry, we're waiting for you!" The restaurant has a truly charming layout: on one side of the road is the indoor dining area, while on the other side is a magnificent outdoor terrace under a charming wooden pergola. The view from there is breathtaking: an open panorama of the woods with the great mountain promontories typical of Corsica as a backdrop. A super practical plus: there's a convenient parking lot right next to the pergola. The atmosphere is informal and authentic, the kind that exudes that beautiful simplicity you'd love to experience every day, not just on vacation. The staff is incredibly polite, professional, and attentive. The food? Fresh, authentic, and top-quality flavors. A truly special treat that made lunch unforgettable: beneath the terrace, surrounded by greenery, a mother wild boar appeared with two little ones, grunting and demanding food! Between the curious customers who stood up to watch, and the waiter who occasionally handed them something to eat, a magical, almost old-fashioned atmosphere was created. If you're passing through, definitely stop by: you'll truly feel like you're on vacation! 🌿🐗🍷
