Victor Le Boulanger sur Rillieux-La-Pape

Clearly the best bakery in Rillieux for years. Their tarts, galettes, and pastries are excellent. It's hard not to give in when you have one of their warm baguettes in your hands.

Like many people, I have a loyalty card, and for good reason. But for the past few weeks, the quality of the baguettes has been disappointing. They're more full of holes than crumb! They're like Swiss cheese! It's not easy to make a decent slice of toast in the morning.

I've been a customer of this bakery for almost 15 years, and I regret to see that the quality of the products has declined. It used to be my go-to bakery, and I only went there. But for several months now, the bread doesn't keep nearly as well. It's still very good, but they had accustomed me to excellence! As for the service, well, it all depends on who you get. Most of the sales assistants are very friendly and welcoming, but others make you want to turn right around and leave. Victor remains a quality bakery (for their specialty breads, for example), but it could be even better.
