The atmosphere is less typical than other local estaminers. The food is always good, whether it's a carbonnade or a Welsh au maroilles!

Had a nice meal at Estaminet Du Welsh. It’s a great spot to try traditional northern French (and Welsh!) dishes, with a good mix of both meat and vegetarian options which makes it nice and flexible.
There’s plenty of seating inside and out, and the staff were very pleasant and friendly throughout.
The food was tasty, although the Welsh dish did get a little bit samey towards the end. It would have been even better with some bread on the side to dip in. That said, desserts were a highlight — really enjoyed the crème brûlée and the passionfruit sorbet.
Overall a good experience and worth a visit.

A typical local/regional restaurant with very pleasant waiters. We discovered typical meals from the region (Flandres) and really appreciated it. We recommend this without a doubt !

I have mixed feelings... The customer service was excellent. Very responsive, friendly, and attentive.
However, the food... I came with a friend and her grandmother. Since it's called "L'Estaminet du Welsh," I had to try the traditional Welsh rarebit. Imagine my surprise when the cheddar wasn't melted enough and the bread, a plain slice of white bread without mustard, wasn't at all soaked in the cheese.
My friend's grandmother ordered the Flemish carbonnade. The meat wasn't tender at all, probably because it was undercooked. My friend's dish, on the other hand, was good: a Welsh rarebit with Maroilles cheese. Again, the staff was fantastic, but the food definitely needs improvement!

A very good experience!
The dish was delicious! A mix of Northern specialties in a reasonable portion size—we really enjoyed it.
The atmosphere is a bit noisy, and unfortunately, if you have the "misfortune" of being seated directly in the draft coming from the door, it will make your visit less pleasant... (that was our experience).
The service is quite fast, even when the restaurant is full. The servers are very friendly. :-)
Obviously... I recommend making a reservation.
I highly recommend it!
