Super good ice cream, my children love your ice cream and so do I... The only downside is lack of space, which is a real shame because eating ice cream standing up isn't very pleasant... Personally, I like to eat my ice cream quietly...

Le Pot Beaujolais

11/04/2024: In Lille over an April weekend to watch Paris Roubaix. Le Pot Beaujolais (situated just off the main square) was our choice for a Friday evening meal. We walked past the restaurant en route to our accommodation and it jumped out at us - it looks like the sort of restaurant you'd find in rural France, rather than in the middle of a city. Having just arrived in the town, we had no reservation but the very friendly staff found us a table. Dishes are traditional French (steaks, andouillette, stew). I planned to order the Pot au feu but it wasn't available so settled on a delicious Pike quenelle in leek fondue. The charcuterie/cheese board we shared as a starter was also good, as was the apple pie for dessert. It's very easy in Lille to find a chain restaurant or modern bistro, particularly in the centre of town. It's probably harder to find a 'little gem' - Le Pot Beaujolais is definitely the latter.
