04/09/2024: amazing ! Unacceptable! Horrible ! Lousy! A “Master Restaurateur” written on his door but it must be removed, he is never in his establishment. No respect for its customers. There is no word in the French language to define this meal. The only positive point is that we laughed so much because this meal was VIDEO GAG worthy!
This is the second time in 6 months that we have come to eat and the chef is not there! This is very easily noticed because when we ask for advice on wine, the young waitress, who has little to do with it, knows nothing about this subject. And when the chef is present, he arrives quickly because wine is his passion. I would still like to point out to you that it is the first day of the week for the opening of his restaurant. We order a Chablis which is not at all what we asked for but we realize it when everyone is served! Too late but it's only the beginning. Then it’s a disaster! already in the starters there are only fish-based starters because on the first opening day of the week the only starter without fish is missing. And there are 9 of us in the restaurant! one person at the table does not like fish and therefore no other starter options. The starters arrive, we ask for bread and then the waitress tells us that there is no bread this evening because they didn't have time to buy bread! Incredible because there is no shortage of bakeries in Bellegarde. So she gives us croutons for the meal. Then the dishes arrive, not very generous and they are lukewarm, almost cold! The only positive point is that the meat is good but cold. Then the waitress arrives to clear the plates and tells us that there are no more of the 3 desserts on the menu. We even thought she was joking but no! Even the cheese was crossed off the menu! she offers us a sorbet instead of the 3 desserts on the menu. Of course, we didn't take anything and we remained polite because unfortunately this young waitress had nothing to do with it, left to her own devices. She then brought us 3 coffees, we could see the bottom of the cup because the coffee was so clear.
It's over, we will no longer return to this establishment as long as Mr. Jean-Jacques COCLET is the ghost restaurateur. And if you want to answer me, there's no need to say that people haven't come to eat in your restaurant as you do in the majority of your responses to customer comments. Because we came there and your waitress will be able to confirm it for you. So Mr. Chef, if you love your customers, I am not asking for any compensation but at least have the respect to apologize without “hitting the mark” as you so often do.
16/08/2024: A green salad with 2 cherry tomatoes and a buratta, a few shavings of parmesan. 18€.
I leave hungry.
The setting is nice nonetheless.
