Le Clos Heurtebise

Remiremont, 60-100€
08/03/2026: A wonderful discovery last night ✨ The restaurant is located in the hills above the city, in a discreet and peaceful spot with a magnificent view. The dining room isn't very large, which creates an intimate and particularly tranquil atmosphere. The establishment is run by an absolutely delightful couple: the wife provides the service with great kindness and attentiveness, while the husband is in the kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised to see the chef personally greet us and then warmly thank us at the end of the meal—a rare and much appreciated touch. As for the food, it's a real treat: refined dishes prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We particularly enjoyed scallops marinated in mandarin juice, semi-cooked foie gras, and duck breast with celery root purée… Perfectly cooked dishes. An address we wholeheartedly recommend for a great time, both for the quality of the welcome and for the quality of the food.
16/02/2026: We had a lovely time at Clos Heurtebise, enjoying some excellent food, but also noting a few points that, in our opinion, could be improved given the restaurant's positioning and price. First, we were a little surprised by the request for our credit card number over the phone for the deposit (or for payment directly at the restaurant). We understand the reasoning, but it can seem slightly unusual. The service was adequate and pleasant, but a bit informal. The pace was also rather slow. We are used to fine dining restaurants offering multi-course menus (often 6-7 courses over about 3 hours), and here the wait felt a bit drawn out. We also noticed a lack of consistency in the presentation: some plates of the same dish differed significantly. For example, the foie gras was presented on attractive slate platters for us, while other tables received it on large plates. It's a small detail, but in a fine dining setting, consistency contributes to the overall experience. The food was good, with some truly outstanding dishes: the foie gras with a vinaigrette and sesame seed sauce was excellent, as was the duck with its particularly flavorful celery root purée. The langoustine was also of high quality, with a very successful sauce. However, the leek accompaniment seemed less refined (the cut was rather coarse), which created a slight imbalance. Some dishes also appeared a little small in portion compared to other fine dining establishments we've visited. In short, a good restaurant with some real strengths, but where we sometimes missed a certain "explosion of flavor" or finesse in some details, which is a bit of a shame considering the price and the expectations one has in this category.
